Camera history
Saint Ives, England 2007. Panorama made out of 4 photos.
Bought my first camera in 1989, this was the Ricoh AF-60S. A 35 mm auto focus camera, can't tell you anymore because i can't find anything on the net about the camera. In the very first minute i started using the camera for concert photos!
The second camera was a big step into photography, the Canon EOS 100. Bought it in 1992 with two lenses: Canon zoom lens EF 28-80mm 1:3,5-5,6 and the: Canon zoom lens EF 80-200mm 1:4,5-5,6 so i would have a bigger range. As you can see, right from the start i started with Canon, but he, you can't judge a book by it's cover...
Third camera was my first digital camera! and i bought it in 2000, the Olympus C-2020Z. People get asking me, when i shot photos, when there where ready and i had to say, always, like next week! That, sometimes really made them angry, :lol. So to get the service i got now i bought this baby. Can you beleave that the camera was $800,=!!! but this camera was a bit cheaper because it was damaged! The camera had 2.1 Mp and the Z stands for zoom, the lens was an AF zoom 6.5-19.5mm 1:2-2,8, a very very good lens. Must say that Olympus makes good lenses.
The fourth was the Canon EOS 10D, bought it in 2003 and sold it in 2004 (just had it for 15 months!!). The camera was to heavy for me, but it brought back my passion for making photos!! The camera (just the camera) weigh ±900grams!! Unbeleavable heavy.
At that moment there was an update on the EOS 10D, the Canon EOS 20D. Was the 10D a 6 Mp camera, the 20D had 8,2 Mp! Also the weight was "just" 700grams..... Another thing was the speed of this camera: the 10D had 3 photos/ sec. the 20D had 5 photos/ sec.
My latest camera, number 6!!!, is the Canon EOS 5D! with 12Mp, i have to say it's really a professional camera, it doesn't have a flash!!! This monster is (for now!) unbeatable (please don't count the EOS 1D, :lol)
Accessories: Canon 28-135mm, Canon 70-300mm, Canon Macro 100mm, Sigma 17-35mm, Sigma 150-500mm, Speedlite 580EX, Wireless Flash Trigger, RS-80N3, Panasonic DMC-LX3.
Music history
Peter Pan Speedrock, The best ROCKING (Dutch) band of the world
At school the love for music started when i heard Kiss, soon to be followed by Van Halen. When i heard this Dutch kid play guitar i knew what i wanted: Playing guitar myself! (didn't do anything with it).
After years listening to bands like Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Nazareth e.o., in the army i heard other great bands. Went from hardrock thru Heavy Metal on to Thrash an other Metals and listened to bands like: Anthrax, Metallica, Exodus, Armored Saint, Slayer, Venom and lots and lots more. Even the punk paid a visited like: The Dead Kennedys, D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciels) and later on Bad Religion, L7, The Donnas.
By searching the roots from those bands i came at the end of the seventies and early eighties, know as NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal): Budgie, Diamond Head, Angelwitch, Girlschool, ect.
When you get older, the music changes too. Not saying i don't listen to those "old" bands, but you're gonna listen to quality and that's why my love for the seventies music: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kansas, Bob Seger, Jethro Tull, AC/DC, Ted Nugent, ect.
My life really got a boots when i heard this guy called Stevie Ray Vaughan (Couldn't Stand The Weather), that's when i got hooked on the blues. After searching for more roots i came up with names like: Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Albert King, Freddie King, Leadbelly but also: Janis Joplin (Big Brother And The Holding Company) en Jimi Hendrix, Lonnie Mack and so on and on.
In the Netherlands we also had some great blues bands in the seventies, like: Brainbox, Barrelhouse, Living Blues, Flavium, Shakey Sam, just to name a few.
I play guitar for 18 years now, started with classical music, play the blues most of the time.... but you already guessed that............
